Barcelona stars snub La Liga awards as Atletico claim FIVE of the big prizes at glamorous ceremony

Barcelona's stars swerved La Liga's glamorous awards ceremony on Monday night, despite netting two gongs.
Lionel Messi won the award for best forward while Luis Suarez was chosen as La Liga World Player of the Year.
But with coach Luis Enrique not even nominated for best coach, despite winning the league, no Barca players were in attendance even though they were on a day off.
Carles Rexach, an ambassador for the club, collected Messi's award on his behalf.
Atletico Madrid were the story of the night, however, winning five major awards including best player, best coach, best goalkeeper and best defender.
Antoine Griezmann picked up the highest honour for La Liga's best footballer, a prize that has been won by Messi for six of the last seven years.
Diego Simeone was the top manager while Jan Oblak and Diego Godín also won.
Real Madrid claimed two prizes with Luka Modric correctly being named the best midfielder in La Liga and 20-year-old Marco Asensio - who spent last season on loan at Espanyol - winning the best newcomer award.
Despite the Barca snub, a host of leading Spanish names both from inside and outside the game were in attendance.
Miss Spain, Mireia Lalaguna, was at the bash while Italian television star Melissa Satta attended with partner Kevin-Prince Boateng.
